The goal of each Lord's Day gathering is to exalt the name of Jesus Christ as one people. We gather because the Church is mainly the Church when it is the church ("the assembly"). And we look to exalt Christ corporately, not to exalt man or talents or buildings or music styles. We do not look to cater to man's preferences, but to conform to the one culture that God has created in the gospel (Eph 2.11-22). Therefore, we do not claim to be contemporary or traditional, but simply to be a part of a gospel culture. We pray that every song we sing exalts God and His glory, Christ and him crucified.
When you come to the worship service, you can expect to see people of many different ethnic backgrounds and of all ages. Whether you have gathered with us before or not, every person in the room is in need of being ministered to. We encourage you to meet and greet in the name of the Lord. If you are not a Christian, you will not be put on the spot in any way. We simply want you to be served, and to look deeper into our magnificent Christ. We would love to talk with you more.
The greatest portion of our service is given to the preached Word. We do not believe there is anything more important than to hear from God's Word. The Scriptures are inspired, therefore, we devote ourselves to expositional preaching-- the explanations of the Scriptures as the Holy Spirit intended to be understood through the human authors. As the Scriptures are explained rightly, God speaks.
We also normally observe the Lord's Supper every first Sunday. We believe as often as this meal is observed the gospel is also preached (1 Cor 11.26). There is SO much more to Christianity than Sunday morning service, but as you can see, there are not many things more central to an obedient life of worship.
